Summary of the 2018 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

Drone monitoring data from October 6-14, 2018.

Terminology Used

  • Detection

A "detection" is an instance in time where the sensor(s) locate a drone. This can include:
         1) turning the drone on with no flight
         2) a drone flying in and out of detection range
         3) drone flying in and out of line of sight or
         4) multiple sensors picking up the same drone in       flight

  • Flight

Aerial Armor has additional analytics that groups similar detections based on time and distance apart into a single flight. This more accurately represents drone flight instances.

  • TFR

Temporary Flight Restriction - a temporary region set by the FAA to restrict drones from flying. Can be time dependent.
